A quick post to pass the time at work and also to recommend Radio Paradise as one of the best internet radio stations I have heard. On a quiet day like today its helping me pass the time. I must also take the time to set up my Uniti to use the higher quality AAC stream as shown on Malcolm Steward’s Blog.

NaimUniti

The long (8 weeks) wait is over and it was well worth the wait for my NaimUniti. The long wait also meant that it arrived with the latest firmware and 24/96 support. It arrived just in time for my new Thecus NAS to break so I have sent it back and replaced it with a Netgear ReadyNAS Duo which is now filled with all my CDs as FLAC files.
First impressions of the Uniti are very good, its really easy to use and sounds fantastic. I just need the itouch app to control it with which Naim are working on at the moment and maybe a Powerline……………..

I am currently without a CD player as I have sold my CDX2 and I’m waiting for my new Naim Uniti to arrive. Its been 7 weeks since I ordered it and apparently Naim are waiting for parts to complete a shipment of these, I wish I wasn’t so impatient! I’m having to make do playing FLAC files from my PC to whats left of my hifi (Naim 82/200). Quite impressed with the foo_touchremote extension for Foobar which means I can use my ipod touch as a remote control. I have also completed the tedious task of ripping my CD’s to flac using dbpoweramp and they are all stored on my funky little Thecus NAS ready to be hooked up to my Uniti. I have already tested it with the NAS test tool designed by Naim which it passed fine.

Quick test post to see if this wordpress thingy works and also to post an image testing my new(ish) bargain Sigma 70-300 macro lens which cost a whopping 75 squid from Warehouse Express.
